Pueblos mágicos, or magic towns, are pueblos (small towns) recognized by the Mexico Tourism Secretary for certain “magical” qualities. These include unique folklore, rich history and stunning natural beauty.
These are promoted by Mexico Secretary of Tourism, these towns are also welcoming to tourists.
There are currently 132 pueblos magicos in Mexico, and nine Yucatan pueblos magicos in the Yucatan Peninsula. In case, you’re wondering, the Yucatan Peninsula is a region in southeast Mexico that’s comprised of three states: Quintana Roo, Yucatan and Campeche.
